Scroll Hope

Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026

Scroll Hope is a Bible reading app for iPhone and a website at scrollhope.com, both made by Swift Fox Software (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app and the website handle, why, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts and no ads, your reading stays on your devices and in your own iCloud, and the only thing we collect is usage events tied to a random ID, to improve the app.

Information that stays with you

The app stores the following on your device. If you use iCloud, it also syncs through your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), which Apple hosts and we cannot read:

You can delete this information by deleting the app. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your iPhone and delete Scroll Hope’s data.

Usage analytics

To learn which features people use, the app and the website send usage events to PostHog, an analytics service. We use PostHog’s US cloud. Events describe actions and settings, such as opening the app, liking a verse, running a search, sharing a verse, changing translation, or turning on Verse of the Day. They can include the book or reference of a verse, but never the text you read, the notes you write, or the words you search for.

Along with each event, PostHog receives standard technical information: device type, operating system and app version, language, and an approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address. In the app, events are tied to the random ID described above, not to your name, email, or Apple ID. We don’t use this information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we don’t sell it or share it with advertisers.

Your choice: turn analytics off in the app under Settings → About. On the website, PostHog keeps a random ID in your browser’s local storage (no cookies) and respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.

Verse of the Day notifications

If you turn on Verse of the Day, the app schedules notifications on your device. They are not sent through our servers, and we don’t receive a push token.

App Lock

App Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time framework (Family Controls). The apps you choose to lock, and your use of them, are handled by iOS on your device. Apple doesn’t share which apps you picked with us, and Scroll Hope can’t see them either. The app keeps only your reading goal and today’s progress, on your device.

Tips and purchases

Tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple tells the app that a purchase happened so it can thank you and turn on supporter extras. We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases. It receives the app’s random ID and the purchase record from Apple, never your payment details.

The website

The web reader doesn’t save your place, likes, notes, or settings. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving them. Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and reliability.

Children

Scroll Hope is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep information

Usage events are kept in PostHog only as long as they help us improve the app, and then deleted. Information on your devices and in your iCloud stays until you delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it’s used. Because we don’t know who you are, the simplest way to stop analytics is the switch in Settings → About. For anything else, contact us and we’ll help.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also mention it in the app.
